Jacy Eberlein For St. Albert City Council

June 9th, 2017

When I was in first grade, my teacher made an “Enviro-fair” to teach us about the hole in the ozone layer, and the relatively new issue of global warming. When I was in fourth grade, I wanted to make higher-yield crops through genetic modification. When I was nine years old, I started thinking about how to construct an artificial intelligence, and the implications for doing so.

In high school and university I heard all around me, the longing for a different life. The worries people have about their debt, about where they will be able to live, if they will have children. The need for a good life.

I see dark times ahead. We saw what happened with a simple drop in the oil prices here in Alberta. What happened to our local economy. Our way of life is based in oil, trucking, lumber, and housing. None of these industries are safe.

Since I was in the first grade, I was told that I would have to deal with these problems. My campaign is a first step in doing so.

Today I am releasing a detailed version of my platform, including exactly what I am going to do about these things. I know technology. I know the environment. I know our city. And I intend to do what I can to prepare them for a future that is coming fast.

I am planning for the future, one I have been preparing for my entire life.

My platform is in three larger parts. A condensed version can be found Here.
My section on our community can be found Here.

My section on the environment can be found Here.

I look forward to working with, and for you.
